In recent years, a rapid growing number of people (especially females
of over 35 years of age) have chosen acupuncture
facial rejuvenation as the alternative to conventional facial lifts in
the United States and around the world. Compared to surgical procedure
or other approaches such as botox, restyline, radiance and collagen
injections, acupuncture is more natural, safer and far less costly.
The acupuncture rejuvenation is the inserting of very fine
acupuncture needles (0.18mm x 13mm) in the facial areas, and
manipulating with certain needling techniques. Since the facial issues
usually link to the health conditions of whole body, therefore, in most cases,
the meridian points in distant parts of body are also treated to
promote the meridian Qi flow towards the face and to restore the whole
body balance .
The mechanisms of acupuncture
rejuvenation may include (1) increase of the facial muscle tone,
(2) stimulating blood and lymph circulation, (3) promoting
facial collagen production and (4)
rebalancing the immune/hormonal systems, all of which result in
the following beneficial changes:
Acupuncture facial rejuvenation (or cosmetic acupuncture) is
considered no-invasive and natural and there is no toxicity or
recovery time. Typically, one treatment course includes 12 sessions
per facial area; two to 3 sessions per week are required in the first
course and 1 to 2 visits per week for the following courses. Depending
on individual scenarios, one to 3 courses of treatment may be needed
and after that, most clients will choose to maintain the treatment one
or twice a month to solidify or refine the beneficial effects for an
extended period of time. 90% cases experienced pleasant cosmetic
results with only one course of treatment; as the treatment continues,
most patients found themselves renewed - with not just more beautiful
facial skin, but also younger looking and happier life. The results can
usually last for 3 to 5 years.
Based on the clinical presentations, herbal (formula) tea may also
be included in treatment regimen in many occasions. The individualized
herbal tea will help address the underlying internal disorders (or
root causes), such as Yin-Yang imbalance, Qi-Blood deficiency or
stasis, and inner toxins of heat and/or damp, to enhance both instant
and long term benefits.
